It gun be hot up at Greenland Land fill this year, not just with the smells but with the music. NCF has announced that one of the venues they were considering hosting Party Monarch 2010 was the illustrious Greenland Land fill&#8221;.

Some would say when it comes to venues this is really reaching the bottom of the barrel, or the bottom of the garbage bin, but is it? Let us explore the opportunities a &#8220;Dump&#8221; Party Monarch presents to us.

Another year, another soca season quickly approaching. 2009 was an interesting year where the private events saw a low turn out when compared to the traditional fetes [Brewsters Road Crew excluded]. Maybe the recession was to blame but we are hoping for a better 2010.

One good sign for 2010 is that Soca on de Hill is back! After a one year rest, the organizers are preparing for a better 2010 and will include TNT 2010 biggest soca stars "Blaze and JW" better known for "Palance".

The long awaited Soca On De Hill is Back for 2010.. After a one year break the organizers has set a date and is getting ready for 2010. 


This has been confirmed from an inside source to bajanfuhlife.com. The event is schedule for July 18th 2010 and will feature a number of regional soca monarchs including the Palancing kings JW & Blaze.</description>

JW & Blaze dominated TNT Carnival at all judging points in Port-of-Spain prompting NCC officials to concluded that they was no need to tally the scores.

When asked how many times Palance played yesterday, NCC officials said they could not divulge any official information, but said there was no doubt that Palance seems to be taking the Road March crown. The official said the song played 95 per cent of the time bands appeared on Carnival Tuesday. A couple bands decided to give True Lies by &#8230;</description>

As the Carnival festivities wind down in Trinidad, a Carnival of a different nature will be casting off on Pigeon Point beach from the 19th- 21st February at the second annual Tobago Carnival Regatta, dubbed &#8220;A Festival of Wind!&#8221;

Has the premier Crop Over festival outgrown the NCF? at a recent media briefing at the Savannah Hotel, Chairman Ken Knight explained that there was a plan to establish a Festival and Events Bureau - an entity distinct from the foundation - which would plan and manage the Crop-Over Festival and other Government-organised events year-round.

He said the NCF could not manage Crop-Over and simultaneously concentrate its energies on the development of other aspects of Barbadian culture.

Gwyneth Squires has launched her 2009 Crop Over presentation, "Hidden Treasures".  As the name suggest, the band will feature treasures of Barbados, appropriately interpreted by the designer. The six vibrantly coloured and very well constructed sections are Animal Flower Cave, Harrisons Cave, Sunken Treasures, Underwater, Sam Lords Castle and Land Treasures.
