Biography

Seen by many as one of Barbados’ best male vocalists and performers, and
cemented in history as one of its top models, Ronnie Morris has quickly risen up
the entertainment ladder since becoming the youngest ever finalist in the
Richard Stoute Teen Talent Contest at age 12.
His trailblazing track record of victories in talent competitions both locally
and internationally has secured his standing and earned him respect in his
homeland.
These victories include winning the St. Michael Song Contest, and a massive haul
of seven National Independence Festival Of The Creative Arts Awards. He has also
made it to the finals of the Party Monarch, Digicel Rising Stars, Barbados Song
Contest, Over 21 and Junior Calypso Monarch (where he placed third in 1997)
contests.
In 2003 he claimed his biggest success in competition, as he made history by
placing fifth out of fifty contestants from across the globe at the Mr. World
contest, held in London, and seen by a television audience of over 800 million
worldwide.
Ronnie also got the opportunity to open the show with a rousing performance of
Elton John’s Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, after being announced as the
winner of the award for Outstanding Talent.
That single achievement was a crowning glory in his career as a model,
confirming him, without a shadow of a doubt, as one of the most successful male
models in his country's history, having previously won the Spirit Of The Nation
Gala, the Roots Experience Contest and the Mr. Barbados- World contest.
His careers as a singer and model have taken him to perform in Trinidad, Aruba
(International Male Model Contest), Venezuela (World Youth Festival), New York,
London, Lincoln (UK), Montserrat, St. Lucia and Guadeloupe, where he was a
featured act at the Festival Of Song and Dance.
His record sales (including solo projects and several compilations) have
exceeded 25, 000 units sold to date, and he has landed four hits on the HOTT Top
20 Chart, Barbados’ most competitive annual airplay chart. His debut single
Solitude spent several weeks on the Dance World Reggae Singles Chart, where it
peaked at number 6, and was the 1 local reggae single for four weeks.
Ronnie has also been featured on E! Entertainment Television, BBC, NBC and CNN
and has high hopes of someday winning a Grammy Award and recording a duet with
vocal legend Whitney Houston.
This entertainment mogul of the future is currently pouring most of his time
into his company, the Timeless Barbados Entertainment Agency, of which he is
Director and Founder. The agency is also a major production company in Barbados,
with some of its major events being the Barbados Music Awards, the Hip-Hop
Festival along with the Mr. & Ms. St. Michael, Mr. Teen Barbados and
Inter-School pageants.
This year he released his first full-length Soul / Dance album, entitled
Deception. The title track has become a hit on local radio, and he performed the
track before over 4,000 screaming fans as he opened for U.S. platinum recording
star Ne-Yo. In August he will fly to England to officially launch the single
there.
Upcoming tours include Abuja Nigeria (August 20th - 27th) and Bremen Germany
(October) with several future dates being considered.
