The Band

Kartizan`s early experience began with a number of the members of the band playing and singing together in various school bands and groups. After building this special bond with each other over several years the members decided to come together and form a band with a musical difference in Barbados. This is the band known as Kartizan.

The members of Kartizan range from 18 years of age to 23 years and most of these young aspiring musicians have been singing and playing music from very young. Some members are so musically inclined that they have continued with music as a career. A number of them are currently pursuing the Associate Degree in Music at the Barbados Community College and several others belong to the Royal Barbados Police Force Band.

The band was formed in February 2006 and over the past year has made a tremendous debut in the calypso and soca arena in Barbados. Special highlights from the Crop-Over Festival of 2006 in Barbados include the Crop-Over Opening Gala, Banks Cable & Wireless Crop-Over Cavalcades, Bridgetown Market, and a performance with one of the Barbados’ internationally known bands, Krosfyah. This continued over the next year in the 2007 Crop-Over Festival.  

Kartizan intends to release a number of singles in the upcoming year 2008 and is currently preparing itself for the 2008 Crop-Over Festival.

Kartizan’s goal is to become an internationally acclaimed band which will tour the world, thrilling audiences with songs from that album which sold millions of copies.
